It's Time for Good Eats and Good Music - The Summer Barbeque Party is Back!
Our neighborhood summer party and picnic is set for July 28th. In case of inclement weather the rainout date will be August 11th. The party starts around 4 with potluck dinner served up at 5 Our band this year will be “RECOIL” and they’re TERRIFIC (Click here to visit the RECOIL web site). You will not want to miss out! Deffenbaugh Continues To Delight!
We have awarded the HOA trash contract to Deffenbaugh for the next three year. Costs of collection will be reduced $23 per year or 13.7% YEA!! Large item collection (mattresses, furniture) will be the Wednesday of the third full week each month at No Charge.
Large item pick-up dates for 2012: June 20th; July 18th; Aug 15th; Sept 19th; Oct 17th; Nov 21st; Dec 19th.
Appliance pick up is a NEW Service. Call 48 hours ahead of when you want it picked up and they will collect for a $20 service fee billed directly to the collection address.

Our HOA Pool will be open for Memorial Weekend … watch for more details and activities. If you need a pool card you can request one via our web-site. There is a fee for a replacement card.

 HOA Board Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at Barnds Bros. 1000 W. 135th st. Overland Park. Meetings generally last about 90 minutes.

Proposed Amendment to the Declaration!
The Consent Form for the proposed Amendment to the Declaration can be downloaded HERE. All Homeowners can download the form and sign it if they have not done so already. The signed form needs to be mailed to Barnds Brothers or hand delivered to a board member.

Mandated Changes From Deffenbaugh
 Trash day is Wednesday and managed by Deffenbaugh. Watch for more details as we will have a new contact in place beginning in June. This will include some large item collection and an appliance pick up service.
Due to new landfill regulations implemented by Johnson County, mandated changes to residential trash service took effect on January 1, 2012.
The new regulations require that haulers:
1. Provide volume-based or “pay-as-you-throw” fee service for household trash
2. Provide container and Unlimited recycling
3. Compost yard waste
* Yard Waste is the main change for Bedford Downs – it must be placed in compostable Kraft (brown) paper bags. These bags can be purchased at WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, Sutherlands and other places. * Deffenbaugh’s yard waste program is March through December with 6 bags allowed per home March-September and 10 bags per home October thru December.
Household Trash – limited to what fits in your cart. Additional bags/containers will require purchasing a sticker. Information regarding stickers can be found on Deffenbaugh’s website.
* Recycling – unlimited. If it doesn’t fit in your cart simply put in another container and label “recycling”. A list of recyclable materials is available on Deffenbaugh’s website.
